The Dumb Blond
The Dumb Blonde Archetype is anything but dumb. But this archetype doesn’t mind being perceived as ignorant and unassuming if it gets them their way. In Hollywood especially, the Dumb Blonde is seen as an unintelligent but beautiful sex object, but the archetype of the Dumb Blonde is much more complex and interesting. The Dumb Blonde acts dumb sometimes because they have a deep fear of being wrong or bad and are desperately trying to preserve a sense of blamelessness. They are masters at feigning ignorance and obliviousness, even to the point of believing it themselves. They fear others anger and disapproval more than anything. Being harmless and gullible allows them to hide from the harsh realities of life and protect them from punishment and rejection, they have to prove there are guiltless and guileless. They would rather be perceived as stupid than face rejection and punishment. They use confusion to avoid ownership and responsibility and can resort to acting childish because it often gets them what they think they need. They avoid new experiences if they think it would be too unpredictable. Safety, security, and approval are the highest values for the Dumb Blonde. They prefer the rut over the risk and seek safety instead of challenges. Because it is in the shadow element and therefore acting unconsciously, the Dumb Blonde is easily influenced and doesn’t recognize their own innate wisdom, nor can they see that their own wisdom is valuable. They are stuck in a pattern of trying to maintain their blamelessness and avoiding the ownership that will free them from the very things they fear.

The Innocent
The archetype of the Innocent is the light side of the Dumb Blonde. The Innocent can find joy in even the smallest things. They see the world at a granular level, up close and the details are fascinating to them. Other people are drawn to their simplicity and brightness and an unvarnished intelligence. They are truly without guile or treachery. The Innocent has an ability to see the good in others, to recognize the innocence in people. This also applies to their own lives and they have learned to see their own innate goodness and purity. You might say, the Innocent sees others at the level of the soul that is pure and eternal. They are drawn to the themes of rebirth, renewal and starting over. They truly believe in a fresh start and wiping the slate clean. The Innocent lives fully in the present moment and brings that fresh youthful perspective to every situation. They love simplicity and are uncomplicated, honest and direct, like a child, but in the best possible sense. The Innocent is willing to learn and grow and is open to new experiences meeting each unfamiliar situation or opportunity with curiosity and willingness. They are not afraid to try new things, such as unusual foods, breakdancing, or guessing how a magic trick is performed. They don’t mind appearing foolish or looking silly in front of others. It is gratifying to share good news with people who have this archetype because they give you the big, reactive response you wanted. They make the best cheerleaders to their friends and are naturally supportive and expressive. Their joyful, candid nature gives others permission to let go and be free of unwanted social constraints. They value harmony and coherence especially as it is found in nature and music. They have pure hearts, free of corruption and they do not become jaded no matter how ugly and dark life has been they see the beauty and goodness in it all.
