Memoir Writing
Thank you for checking out my Memoir Writing Services. I offer three different types of writing services.
Writing memoir has long been a powerful tool for self awareness, healing and working through painful relationships. But learning to go beyond journal writing and into the literary craft of narrative nonfiction can be challenging for many. I offer private writing services that include discovery process for beginners as well as developmental editing and query critiques for more established writers.
Beginning Memoir Services
- Discovery of memories and development of ideas
- Support and strategies for creating a writing space
- Strategies for time management and organization
- Practice generating content on a regular basis
- Cultivating a working writer’s mindset (this includes reading suggestions)
Beginning Memoir does NOT include reading or editing your work.
To schedule a free 30 minute phone session to see if I might be a good fit for you contact me using the form below. Typically clients schedule weekly sessions for as long as they need it. There is no minimum number of sessions. My rates after the free consultation are $100.00 per hour.
Or you may already have a partial or full rough draft of a manuscript and you need support in crafting stronger scenes, improving dialogue, strengthening narration, developing imagery and metaphor that enhances your writing. Maybe you just need the support of another writer that can offer useful feedback for what is both working and what is not working in your text. You could be simply bogged down in the middle of your project, feeling a little hopeless and worn out. You need an encouraging friend to keep you moving forward in continuing to develop your craft and your project. If so, you might be interested in my Developmental and Editing Services.

Developmental and Editing Services
- Multiple rounds of edits on the submitted work
- Reading manuscripts and offering developmental suggestions
- Revising and editing any length of work including book-length
- Character and/or plot development
- Metaphor and imagery development
Developmental and Editing Services does NOT include line editing or proof reading.
Most of this service is done by phone and supplemented by regular emails. If you are working on a book length project I can schedule weekly, biweekly or monthly sessions. Maybe you are much further along the writing path. Perhaps you already have a polished book manuscript and are struggling with the query letter or submission materials for agents or editors. Or maybe you don’t know how to begin searching for agents and have questions about the querying process. You could be working on an essay you are hoping to submit to a literary journal or online publication, or entering your short story into a contest, building your visibility and credentials as a professional but want someone to help you decide where to submit or critique your work. Perhaps you are struggling to create an author bio, a book synopsis, and chapter summaries. I can help you with all of those. Embarking on the publishing path is one of the most daunting challenges for writers. We need all the support we can get. Check out my Query and Submission Critiques Services.

Query and Submission Critique Services
Include a full critique with suggestions for revision and first round of edits for:
- Query letter
- Book synopsis
- Chapter summaries
- Author bio
- Nonfiction Essays and Short Stories
- I also offer support and resources for researching agents, literary journals and online publications.
Query and Submission Critique Services does NOT include ghostwriting of any kind.
